We all dream about escaping. Escaping out dreary lives. Escaping to an exotic locale. Even if it’s only for a little while. We dream about undertaking an exciting adventure.
I made my escape for a while in the early 1990s. That escape drained my bank account, but it was worth every penny. It changed me in several ways and introduced me to experiences that I’d never have been exposed to otherwise.
It’s not enough to dream of escape. You can live vicariously through the social media posts and blogs of others, but in the end those escapes aren’t yours. They don’t have the same meaning for you. You might get a brief visceral thrill, but that’s it.
You need to find a way to pull the trigger at least once and if only for a few days. Or even just a few hours. Otherwise, you’ll always wonder what if?
